Jonathon Saunders Autumn Winter 2011
Jonathon Saunders’ last collection was very beautiful, although surprisingly different to what he did in the past, and this one was just as good. The simple shapes, bold use of colour, and striking prints resulted in a very strong collection of dresses. It is close to what Prada did for spring summer, but not too similar, it still has its own style. I definitely think this collection is still more New York than it is London, and I wonder whether his decision to show in London has had any impact on sales. (Plus, there are already so many great London designers who do pattern well, like Peter Pilotto and Mary Katrantzou, Saunders is more likely to stand out in New York
